Respite Program

"This program allows for me to have time to recharge myself and do things I otherwise wouldn’t be able to do."

- Program Parent

In recognition that families who have sons and daughters with developmental disabilities often have more extensive care-taking responsibilities than families of typically developing children, the Respite Program is meant to provide parents with short-term relief and time away from their child or adult family member with a disability. Families use their own providers and then report hours of care to ARC-CSS for financial reimbursement. A family is typically allotted 15 hours per month with services available to families in Clay, Edwards, Effingham, Jasper, Richland, Wabash and Wayne Counties.
